Hippo outdoor weatherproof range – Trader’s workhorse product.

Our Hippo range of outdoor weatherproof switches and sockets is ready for the tough Australian climate. Designed to endure the harshest elements, the Hippo is the real workhorse of the Trader product range.

The Hippo has the conventional look consumers are familiar with, and all sockets are IP54 rated and ‘Zone 2’ ready, which means they don’t require a cover or additional plastic socket flaps for pools, wet areas and ponds. These features make them perfect for installation in car parks, garden areas, on exterior walls, under verandahs and patios and around swimming pools.

The one and two gang switches are IP66 rated to protect against water or harmful objects, making them perfect for exterior areas or damp, dusty environments such as building exteriors, carports, gardens or workshops.

Both the one and two gang switches and one and two gang power points are available in grey and black. The 84mm Recessed Mounting Adaptor, which enables a shallow mount, provides a sleeker look for the more modern outdoor living area or commercial install.   

The Hippo 15A Appliance Inlet and 10A and 15A auto switched sockets are ideal for those needing a weatherproof option for caravans or relocatable buildings.

The complete Hippo range, including the dollies, is made from UV Stabilised Polycarbonate to avoid discolouring and is compliant with Australian standards.
